It’s a silly little dream called ‘Nude’.
Funny Story – While finalizing our brand name, we got into a family feud, with five hours of brainstorming sessions each day, along with our doses of microgreen infused liquor, lettuce wraps and basil pesto.
We started by sugar coating it, came up with ‘Au Naturale’. Just before rolling it out Sunny Bee decided that our brand should show customers the absolute truth, renaming it, NUDE.
Our brand is simple, straight, easy, relatable just like our produce and recipes. It’s not just a hydroponic startup, it’s a way of life.
We are not just selling you leaves, we present you with the secret ingredients to make a ‘switch in your lifestyle’. Literally and Metaphorically….

    Passion for food and travel, with profound interest in plant nutrition led me to believe that our country needed a fresh & progressive view toward agriculture.
    After completing my graduation in Journalism and Economics from Indiana University Bloomington and working with Fortune 500 companies like Amex. I felt that food safety is a pressing point that needed an immediate solution.

    My apprehension in consuming leafy greens in India, due to several reported worm incidents, furthered my mission to grow the purest quality leaves, all year round.
    Yes, that was a dream that hit reality after an integrated course in Hydroponics from CEAC, Tuscon, Arizona.
    Soon enough, I became obsessed with the variety, texture, savoys and differentiation of each leaf. It’s therapeutic and nutritive properties, with significant proofs of curing certain autoimmune diseases and rebuilding immunity to fight deadly ones, drove me closer and closer to the cause.

    For me, Nude is not just a name, it is a fight against bad agriculture practices, food safety issues and other grey areas in agriculture.
    My dream is to start a new wave in agriculture, operating on complete transparency, bridging the gap between consumers and growers where every single consumer trusts and values the crunch of locally sustainable produce.
    I call my mission ‘Know Your Roots’ and have been ‘Living the Nude Truth Ever Since.

    I have always been passionate about acquiring knowledge and providing quality results. Being productive is what keeps me in the right mood. Some say I am fussy about specifications, I just like to say I am organised.

    I come from a commerce background with a bachelor's degree in commerce from Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University. With interest in Marketing and Business Development, I constantly try to keep up with the new trends, experiment with ideas and engage with the industry professionals. All in all, the aim is to build analytical wisdom and emerge as an enthusiastic and responsible professional.

    While studying about the sustainable development goals some time back, I realised my mission as a global citizen. After working for a bit with sustainable businesses, I figured I enjoy being a part of the bigger goal. Nude happens to be another such startup, aiming to revolutionize the food industry and thereby accomplish the goal of responsible production and consumption. It’s an unconventional brand with an incredible approach to holistic living. I am glad to be a part of this team.

    Being able to cook and serve people with love had always fascinated me. It brought me joy that knew no limits. I believe good food can heal people and thus, being a chef always felt right.

    At the age of 16, I got myself enrollment in a culinary program at the International Institute of Culinary Arts. Managing school and academics was quite a task but I tried balancing it as well as I could while doing the same with the spices in my dishes.

    My first gig in a professional kitchen was at the Oberoi Hotel where I joined as a trainee but left as a proper line chef. Since then I’ve been working with different chefs and in different restaurants. My profession has taken me places. Amongst opportunities like working in Goa, running a full time kitchen, managing food and beverage businesses, starting my own project, the highlight has been heading a restaurant in Cyberhub called Pier 38.

    The ability to mix various ingredients and bring them together in a new, beautiful and healthy way is exciting for me. That’s what brings me to Nude. I’m here to curate fun and flavourful recipes by incorporating greens in everyday meals.

    My journey so far has been a roller coaster ride. It’s been sweet and salty all at the same time, but it’s nothing that I never wanted. I am grateful for all the challenges that I have faced in life. They make me who I am today. I hope to never grow complacent, always have my innovation hat on and continue to travel the road that brings me closer to my goals as a chef and as a human being.
